Anna Maria Horsford

AnnaAnna Maria Horsford is one of the most versatile actresses in Hollywood, playing roles from profoundly dramatic to gut busting comedy.

Born to parents from Antigua & Barbuda in the West Indies, Horsford was raised in Harlem New York with a broader view of the world beyond the shores of Amerca. She graduated from the New York High School of Performing Arts and attended college in Stockholm, Sweden. She is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

Horsford actually began her professional career behind the camera as a producer for the PBS show, “Soul!” , an all-black weekly variety show that showcased internationally known funk, jazz and soul musicians as well as interviews with prominent world politicians and writers.

Horsford’s breadth and depth of talent keeps her from the throes of type-casting (see filmography). She is perhaps best known for her role as Thelma Frye on the sitcom Amen and her role as Craig Jones' mother, Betty Jones, in the 1995 classic comedy, Friday. She has played myriad characters on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,Sparks, Moesha, The Bernie Mac Show, The Shield, Girlfriends, Everybody Hates Chris and The Wayans Bros as "Dee Baxter" the lovable security guard. She has appeared on the dramas Judging Amy and Grey's Anatomy.

Horsford also played the role of “Miss Annie” in the acclaimed Tim Reid directed movie “Once Upon A Time When We Were Colored”.

In “Wigger”, Horsford brings her genius to the role of Antoine’s mother, Ruth.

Meshach Taylor

MeshachThis tall, handsome son of college professors was born in Boston, MA and raised in Indiana and New Orleans where he acquired his gracious southern demeanor. Meshach Taylor became fascinated with acting in high school and studied the craft at Wilmington College in Ohio and Florida A & M University where he received a Bachelor’s degree.

Meshach began his professional career in repertory theater as a member of Chicago's Goodman Theater and the Organic Theater group. His stage performance in "Sizwe Banzo Is Dead," garnered him Chicago’s Joseph Jefferson Award.

After gaining ample theater experience, Meshach moved to Los Angeles where he proved to be a versatile actor, earning roles in a wide genre of movies to include “Damien: Omen II” and “The Howling”. He also earned reoccurring television appearances on "Barney Miller," "Lou Grant" and "M*A*S*H.

In 1986, Meshach’s southern charm served him well when he won the role of Anthony Bouvier on the popular television series “Designing Women”. He earned an Emmy Award nomination for his portrayal of the upward moving assistant at the fictitious “Sugarbaker” interior design firm in Atlanta, Georgia.

Meshach also played the role of “Mr. Pruitt” in the short version of “Wigger” for director Omowale Akintunde’s thesis at the New York Film Academy.

Meshach is married to actress Bianca Ferguson and has four children: Tamar, Yasmine, Esme Alana and Tarique.

David Oakes

David OakesDavid Oakes developed a passion for entertaining as a child growing up in Danville, Virginia and, as a result, began acting at a very early age. He attended acting classes for film and television in Virginia and his dreams for the big screen led him to New York City in 2003 and eventually to California in 2006.

A few of David's film credits include "Secret of the Cross:If I tell you, I have to kill you" (2010), “The Weekend” (2007), “Long Distance Princess” (2008) & “Float” (2008). He has been seen on MTV's Parental Control, performed stand up comedy at The World Famous Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, CA and has been featured in numerous print ads and catalogues nationwide. David’s gift of writing and recording music made him a natural choice for the role of silky singer Brandon in “Wigger”.

David is also very athletic and enjoys playing a variety of sports including basketball and football. David is currently living in Hollywood,CA where he continues to hone his craft by auditioning for challenging roles.

Eric Harvey

Eric HarveyWitty, confident and sometimes funny actor Eric B. Harvey was born in Houston, Texas. If you ever heard “I was once lost but now I’m found”, that would be Eric. Performing poetry and acting took Eric from a dead road to a highway of life. Amazingly what was pushed upon him has become his passion and opportunity to share his love. Eric's other film credits are “Deceitful Storm”, “Grey Focus” and “Mama’ Em”.

When not acting, Eric is writing. He’s the writer and director of TV series “Where’s My Man”. He’s also established himself as an author with a poetry book titled “Freedom of Speech Writing Out Loud”. Eric is a graduate of the New York Film Academy.

Braxton Davis

Braxton DavisBraxton Davis is a full-time actor. He has worked on features with Malcolm McDowell, Angus Macfadyen, Tom Sizemore, Danny Glover, Lynda Carter, C. Thomas Howell, and Brian Austin Green to name a few. He is currently featured in two national commercials for Doritos and Adidas.

Braxton graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Business Administration and did post graduate work on a masters degree at NCSU with a concentration in public policy administration. He has acquired several rental properties and moved into the film making business full-time following move to Wilmington, North Carolina in 1999. Braxton also ran a production company, which has been involved in the production of over 70 shows ranging from features, to commercials, and two national cable TV shows. He made the move to Los Angeles in 2007 to be a full time Actor and owner of Lagrip.com.

Pam Paulson

Pam PaulsonPam is passionate, versatile and dedicated to the craft of acting. She loves being part of an interesting story and championing the characters she plays whether in a play, film or television.

Growing up in Stratford, Connecticut gave her exposure to a broad range of theater through attending numerous productions at the Shakespeare Theater Company. She has been performing in front of people since age 12 when she played Scrooge in “A Christmas Carol” as a female (none of the boys wanted the part!).

When Pam moved to California she was pleased to join the Backstage Theater Company, an ensemble theater group in Orange County. She was involved with several productions, one her favorites playing Kathy in “Vanities”. She has performed with the improve group OC Crazies, and several other theater productions. Some of her favorite film and TV credits include, “Nine Fourteen” (currently playing in several film festivals across the country), “The Telling” (being released April 14) , “Underground Kings” and her TV credits include LA Forensics (Court TV) and What You Should Do (Lifetime).

In her commitment to hone her acting skills Pam’s acting training includes: South Coast Repertory Theater with Karen Henzel, Two Lights Studio with Judith Weston, Mary McDonnell and Randy Mell, Pete Taylor and the Australian Institute of Dramatic Arts (AIDA) with Paul Parker Pam recently returned from a national tour of “About Faces” produced by AIDA.

Arkeni

ArkeniA rare combination of stunning beauty and talent, Arkeni is a true jewel and perfectly cast as the vivacious Lavita in “Wigger”.

While growing up in Louisiana, Arkeni was exposed to world-class jazz, R&B and reggae music and began singing and acting in front of audiences at the age of five. Her formal acting and music training includes the Children's Theater at the University of California, Riverside and the Cal State-Fullerton International Thespian Society. She also received dance training at Cal State-Fullerton andPepperdine University. She is a veteran actress and has been in numerous movies, TV appearances and theater productions.

Arkeni writes and arranges music and her style is said to be “a mesmerizing mix of old school, blues, rock, neo-funk, hip-hop, rock, jazz, gospel and the spoken word”. She also choreographs and stages her own shows. She spends her free time swimming, skating, horseback riding and marksmanship training.

Arkeni is a refreshing renaissance entertainer--the complete actor/singer/dancer package that is reminiscent of the golden age of entertainment and is sorely missed today.

Kim Patrick

Kim PatrickDon't let the demure smile or the sultry eyes fool you: Kim Patrick will dominate you in a New York minute if you mistake her femininity for weakness. The 25-year-old actor -who was born in North Carolina to an African American mother and Cherokee Indian father-is tough as nails, and keeps nailing roles as women who pull no punches.

Kim has made a number of appearances in films such as "Gospel Hill," working alongside Julia Stiles. She has appeared on television shows such as One Tree Hill, The John Kerwin Show, and was recently featured in Ebony magazine.

Kim has earned recognition for her performance in plays such as, "A Raisin in the Sun." She left audiences in tears with her portrayal of Lady in Red in "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf."

This hard working beauty possesses the ability to make any character she plays come alive with one read of the script.

Justin Ruff

Justin RuffBorn and raised in Washington, DC, Justin Ruff ‘s interest in acting emerged during his freshman year while studying at Hofstra University. After auditioning for his first play and landing the lead role in “Zooman And The Sign” (written by Charles Fuller), Justin began to take acting serious and devoted his time into developing an acting technique.

He moved back to Washington, DC and began studying at the Woolly Mammoth Theater. He also took up private lessons with acting coach Vera Katz who has taught many professional actors including Phylicia Rashad, Jeffrey Wright, and Anthony Anderson.

Since his move to Los Angeles, CA, Justin has appeared in several independent films such as “Another Kind Of Valor” and “Becoming Michael”. He has also appeared in commercials for “Nike” and “Rhapsody”. Justin continues to hone his craft at the Ivana Chubbuck Studio in Hollywood, CA.

Tim Jennings

Tim JenningsHe calls himself “the ultimate 21st century stand-up comedian” and he has the mega talent to back up that statement. Tim Jennings hails from Birmingham, Alabama and has been taking the comedy circuit by storm for the past six years with a mixture of urban, adult, and family entertainment.

Jennings has made appearances on BET’s Coming to the Stage commercial, Tom Joyner’s Big Break. He has made several auditions on Martin Lawerence’s 1st Amendment Showcase, Def Jam and the Last Comic Standing and has been a finalist in numerous comedy festivals including Steve Harvey's Big Break and the Budweiser and Bacardi Comedy Festivals.

Jennings has also worked along-side comedy heavyweights Sommore, Mike Epps, Rickey Smiley, Bruce Bruce, and Charlie Murphy among many others. He can be hilarious in any setting and his unique comedy aptitude has allowed him to open for gospel greats Donnie McClurkin and Curt Carr as well.

In “Wigger”, Jennings steps out of comedy and takes on the serious role of the riveting preacher, Reverend Goodman and we can expect an unforgettable performance.

Brian “B Daht” McLaughlin

Tim JenningsBrian McLaughlin is to B Daht what Clark Kent is to Superman.

Brian became B Daht Fall 2001 on the campus of Winston Salem State University while co-hosting a Mozik Fashion Show. Success is when Preparation meets Opportunity, being so prepared with material and the opportunity to execute consistent high level entertainment allowed him to be extremely successful that night. Since that fateful night, hundreds of thousands of people have been entertained by B Daht in a variety of ways, ranging from: comedy, poetry, modeling, and step shows, in NC, SC, NY, MIA, TX, GA, CA, MO, VA and DC. Before graduation, May 2006, from aforementioned institution of higher education, he landed two positions he currently holds; PA Announcer for WSSU Athletics (Football and Men’s/Women’s Basketball) & Morning Show funny guy for WJMH 102 JAMZ Wild-Out Wake-Up Show.

B Daht has appeared on Maury Povich; appeared on VH1’s I Love New York: Season 2. B Daht has performed the hit single, “Sausage” – (Google it) - at numerous locations. Elan Garfias

Elan GarfiasElan is no stranger to the arts. By the age of six, he had already appeared in several industrial and short films, danced in ballet, sung in an opera, and landed several voiceover jobs. The next year, at the tender age of seven, Elan made his feature film debut as "Claudito" in Liongate’s "Ladron Que Roba A Ladron" and since then has continued performing in theater productions, dance ensembles, and many short films.

Elan's voice can be heard in many radio commercials and cartoons, including The Cartoon Channel’s "Chowder," "Handy Manny," "Ni Hao Kailan" and "Spongebob”.

Elan loves science, reading, music, and dance. He also enjoys ceramics, building with recycling, and Legos. In “Wigger” Elan plays Brandon’s autistic brother, Michael. He is very happy to be working on this project with such a talented cast and passionate director.

Janette Jones

Janet JonesThis native North Carolinian began writing at an early age. She has written many poems, essays and short plays thru the years. Over twenty years ago (‘80’s), she wrote and adapted the ‘Passion’ play performed by her Church School students. She has since adapted the 12 Steps To the Cross in the form of mime that is often performed during the Easter season at her church. Art was also another of Jan’s gifts. As a young girl she was enrolled as a correspondent student with the Famous Artist School in New York City, which boasts of such alumni as Norman Rockwell.

Sistah Girl an epic drama depicting the lives of twelve biblical women comparable to the life women sometimes lead today was written, directed and produced by Janette. This work of fiction had its first successful run in 2002, in 2005 as Sistah Girl Revisited. And most recently in 2008 as Sistah Girl Now & Again which was performed at the Witherspoon Concert Hall (Joslyn Art Museum). Brotha’, I Am the Man’ is nearing completion. Janette has also begun work on her first book project entitled Heaven Only Knows.

As a proprietor of Make My Day Floral Creations, Janette creates floral designs, as well as co-ordinate and stage design for weddings, receptions and banquets. A number of her floral designs have been commissioned from clients as far away as Chicago, Arizona, Texas, California and soon her daughter’s from Georgia. She has served many local clients as well. Janette has also orchestrated banquets with nationally known celebrities as speakers. Seeing the fruit of her labor of love produce the biggest smiles on her clients faces brings Jan the greatest joy after ‘making their day.’

Jan and her husband of 37 years, Jerry a retired Air Force sergeant, have traveled extensively. They are the proud parents of two adult sons, ‘Tee’ of Dallas, Georgia, Jeremy of Milden Hall Air Force Base, England, and one daughter, Leslie of Roswell, Georgia. They are also the proud grandparents of two grand-daughters, Kyran and Kenzle of Dallas, Georgia.
